Couldn't get tickets to see him at Ronnies recently. Currently Follow The Red Line is my favourite album. Some blistering lines and great original tunes. What mastery of the sax across the whole range with real emotional force.

I have neglected this blog for a long time. I have decided to include a log of my practice, lessons learnt etc. as well as personal reviews of gigs.

I have been having lessons from Simon Savage for a while. He is very structured and a good tutor. He very much has his own ideas and expects you to follow them. Having said that that can be useful if you want to learn what he knows / teaches, which is very much the bebop style. He is a really good player and I always enjoy his gigs. More detail on learning later.
